January 22, 2006 – in front of the appreciative Seattle Seahawks fans at Qwest Field, Carrie Underwood sang one of the most beautiful renditions of the National Anthem ever performed on broadcast television. This clip is intended to honor that version, the song itself, and what it represents.

I dont’ get it…the American national anthem is kind of arrogant and boastfully like the old German national anthem was (which was forbidden for good reason).
Why should God just bless America? God should bless all people who are honest and live without hurting anybody….just my opinion!

OK I know this is not going to be popular with you underwood lovers..but this was not her best. I know Carrie can sing..but she was off here. This would have been better with music. She was all over the place with it. sharp a lot, over shot where she didn’t need to..a bit of a mess if I am being honest.
Absolutely beautiful and flawless! This performance is way better than her Superbowl one!! I don’t understand why she went downhill, but she did.
I think that she did the “land of the free” part very very beautiful! Well, I thought all of it was very very beautiful, but that was my favorite part!
She’s FINALLY getting to sing it at the SUPER BOWL! She truly does have the greatest singing voice of all time– beautiful inside and out…I love her!
Now THIS is how you sing the National Anthem!!! No runs, no trills, no frills … just sing the song. Amazing!!!
